For the floor called Weave, color was the point of departure. The marmoleum modular floor consist of a combination of colors which together make a new color. This principle inspired Lex to think of weaving colors with different layers to make a new pattern. Because the floorboards are almost woven like a fabric and fall into one another, it was an interesting fact to build up the colors in such a way that there is a weave of color. The layering of tones creates depth in the floor which is normally one-dimensional. By this optical illusion of a colored fabric getting depth, shape and pattern fall into place. The floor is designed in five different color variations to emphasise the diversity of the concept.
